| Philadelphia and Elizabeth Wharton , by Sir Anthony van Dyck, (1599 – 1641) was engraved by Flemish draughtsman, printmaker and engraver, Pieter Stevens van Gunst (1659 – 1724), for the Houghton Gallery Series collection. Pieter worked in Amsterdam. and was a prolific output for publishers, especially of portraits and book illustrations. Portraits form the larger part of van Gunst productions and are considered his best plates. He engraved a set of ten plates after van Dyck from the Wharton collection from 1713 – 1715. Philadelphia and Elizabeth Wharton , was published by the eminent English publisher, John Boydell (1719 – 1804) in Cheapside London. The Philadelphia and Elizabeth Wharton engraving has a vellum covering and measures, 26.00 inches H X 18.00 inches W, with the image size of, 20.50 inches H X 13.25 inches W.
