This Pair of American Mid-Century Modern Oak Lane Tables would make a bold statement in any mid century décor. Designers were looking for a refuge from a war-tattered world and found solace in the warmth and strength of lighter woods, hence the use of oak. This simplicity of the line design is what makes mid-century modern furniture continue to be relevant in today’s homes. The tables hail from Lane Furniture Company in Altavista, Virginia, which was the company’s headquarters until the beginning of the 21st century. The father and son team, John and Ed Lane, started the company in 1912 under the name Standard Red Cedar Chest Company. After their cedar chest venture became successful they decided to put their name on the label. Lane expanded to occasional tables in 1951. The Pair of American Mid-Century Modern Oak Lane Tables have the original brass hardware and original Lane manufacturer’s stamped labels, which include the style and serial number, place of origin and Reg. U.S. Pat Off. The tables have been professionally restored and measure, 23.75” H X 19.00” W X 29.75” D, and 27.00” H X 22.00” W X 22.00” D.
