Chief Looking Glass, J. Miller Native American Indian Etching  Etching Numbered 5 Out of 6, Dated: December 13, 1978  Professionally matted and framed  
  Chief Looking Glass is J. Miller's etching of, Allalimya Takanin (1832-1877), who was the son of a prominent Nez Percé chief. Although Chief Looking Glass resented white encroachment on his ancestral lands he opposed going to war with the United States. Chief Looking Glass along with Chief Joseph directed the 1877 retreat from eastern Oregon into Montana towards the Canadian border, and was killed in 1877, after the Battle of Bear Paw. Chief Looking Glass is numbered 5/6, dated December 13, 1978, professionally framed, and measures, 14.50” H X 11.75” W.
