| Author Clair Bank (Clarissa Mabel Blank Moyer) wrote the first four books in the Beverly Gray series while still in high school. At the age of eighteen, one year after graduation, the four books were published. The books were part of a twenty-six volume Beverly Gray series, in print from 1934 to 1955. The rights to the series were sold to Grosset and Dunlap in 1938. In 1965, Clair died at the age of fifty after being diagnosed with cancer. Beverly Gray’s Secrete copyright 1951, was the twenty-first in the Beverly Gray series and has all the usual wear that may come with a book of this era; including a signed greeting inside the front, “To Marilyn From Mommy & Daddy 12/25/57” and the remains of contact information from previous owners.
