This Antique Victorian American Solid Oak Platform Rocker/Recliner has it all. The chair not only rocks, but the back adjusts into a recliner with a pullout for a footrest! The platform rocker/recliner is constructed out of solid oak and features an upholstered back and seat, and decorative turned spindles on the base, spreaders and footrest. As a side note, the platform rocker was created in America in the 1870’s to prolong the life of a rug. Apparently Americans rocked so much that the rocker wore out their carpets, hence the ingenuous invention of the platform rocker.
